ESG-Transparency led the campaign that pushed CalSTRS and CalPERS, two of the largest and most influential institutional investors in the world, to divest from CoreCivic & GEO over their human rights abuses of migrants and other detainees. ESGTI’s Educators for Migrant Justice campaign also focused on engagement with United Rentals and General Dynamics. ESG-Transparency also helped pass AB-32, the California legislation banning for-profit prisons.
